GSuite - GCDS, AD nested Groups and emailing

We have GCDS setup and have an ALL Students distribution group which on MS used to work really well!

 

Now we have found that the nested year group groups within the ALL Students email group is not working as it should. Does Google group support nested groups from Active Directory?
