FN-GM Posted March 19, 2020 Posted March 19, 2020 (edited) Hello, When a user first logs in they are presented with a number of notifications like this. The odd thing is Edge hasn't become the default browser. However Outlook isn't the default mail client anymore. I am configuring the default applications via an XML file (below). I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions please? Googling brings up all sorts mainly for consumers. Thanks Edited March 19, 2020 by FN-GM
RLR Posted March 19, 2020 Posted March 19, 2020 I posted this a while ago but never found a solution. I've just decided to live with it for now and just hope it's a bug that will be fixed? http://www.edugeek.net/forums/windows-10/211707-app-caused-problem-your-default-x-setting-so-reset-y.html What version of windows are you installing? 1
FN-GM Posted March 19, 2020 Author Posted March 19, 2020 What version of windows are you installing? Windows 10 Pro 1909. I will have a look at your link in the event I see something. Thanks for the reply.
ajg Posted March 19, 2020 Posted March 19, 2020 We had the same issue too when we shifted to 1909 and use the xml file for app association’s. Everything works as expected but just get the notifications when a user logs in, can’t recall if it was just for new profiles on a computer it appeared. Never found a solution so just suppressed notifications in group policy for the time being.
FN-GM Posted March 19, 2020 Author Posted March 19, 2020 The problem with my setup is that it doesn't all work fine. The default mail application isn't set. Something pretty important for us!
