We're just setting up a bunch of standalone laptops for remote working. Can we protect them via Sophos Central and if so how? Probably really obvious but can't find a SIMPLE guide!

On the Sophos central page, you can download a windows installer from the Protect Devices section on the left hand side.

For standalone laptops, I download this installer, then just install it on the laptops. They then automatically appear in Sophos central once installed.

Ah, right. I knew about the installer but didn't know whether it was smart enough to connect! So once offsite do they then just keep in touch via the cloud?

Yes they will, as long as they have internet connection, they will then report back to Sophos central for updates etc and you can see when they were last active etc under the devices section.

Good stuff. A sign of my advancing years (and rolling out many complex and gruelling updates over the decades) that I didn't believe it could be that simple!
