GIGABYTE GA-Z68P-DS3 Missing Capacitor cap

Hi all,

 

I have a GIGABYTE GA-Z68P-DS3 motherboard with a missing capacitor cap. I am happy to replace myself but need to find the rating of the capacitor to get a replacement.

 

 

This is the one missing, does anyone have this board and can let me know, or tell me the best way to find out? No pics I find have a good enough resolution to see.

I've had a good look around and can't find anything, sadly.

Do you have the old capacitor? Any pics I can find do not show this part in enough detail to make out the specs of the missing cap.

Thanks for looking. No I don't have the original sadly, it was given to me missing. I have seen a few being sold on ebay, so could try emailing the seller, don't know if that will work or not.

Found these on ebay and it looks like the caps are missing off these as well.

I have emailed the seller of these boards and Gigabyte themselves, whether I will get a response from either is another question.

As like the others, I couldnt find a good photo, the above is the best I found.

 

Appears that the cap is the same as the three at the top.

Looking on some other baords here (none are the same as yours, although I am dead certain that we had some ending in DS3). The capacitors that are the same size and colour are the same model.

 

If you dont get a good reply, it could be safe to assume the above?

Sounds like a plan, thanks for that mate. The other capacitors along the top are LF 270 C 13P. If I don't hear anything back will go with these.

Hi,

 

Haven't heard back from Gigabyte yet, but spoken to RS-Online and after some research they have recommended a capacitor that will work. Will hold off to see if I hear back from Gigabyte just to play it safe, but it gives me an option.

Heard back from Gigabyte and they send me a pic of the capacitor I need.

 

 

Just have to find it now.
