kidpressingbuttons Posted March 11, 2020 Posted March 11, 2020 Anyone have way to bulk create DLs in Office 365 from users in AD? We would like to make a list for each lesson from CSV files we pull from sims if possible?
TechMonkey Posted March 11, 2020 Posted March 11, 2020 Salamander? Otherwise it will be a powershell script jobby. 1
kidpressingbuttons Posted March 11, 2020 Author Posted March 11, 2020 Having a look at the salamander tool now! Ratcliffepg -would you mind sharing? Id be very grateful
HPlum78 Posted March 11, 2020 Posted March 11, 2020 Powershell all day long, in fact have just done ~200 of them. We have a couple of special cases that are managed by our IT department these guys are allowed to script their membership on our local AD and these have one of the Extension attributes set to AzureSync then AAD connect (or whatever we are calling it today) has a rule that essentially looks at that extension attribute for that value and then syncs the group up. 1
kidpressingbuttons Posted March 12, 2020 Author Posted March 12, 2020 Sounds good- Would you mind sharing?
thebatman Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 Salamander? +1 for Salamander. We use it for nearly everything these days. From creating users, distribution groups based on SIMS classes, populating there SIMS timetable into exchange to even creating there accounts in Paxton Net2.
kidpressingbuttons Posted March 12, 2020 Author Posted March 12, 2020 Yeah liking the look of Salamander- what are you using as their ID in the spreadsheet- UPN?
HPlum78 Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 (edited) What is salamander using to do that sync into exchange? And yes i will share the code, will get it posted shortly. Edited March 12, 2020 by HPlum78
thebatman Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 What is salamander using to do that sync into exchange? I don't know what they are using, I think they have there own dlls that use powershell. (they have there own program that runs)
HPlum78 Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 (edited) I guess this may be a better question, what permissions do you have to give the account that runs the integration so that it can access your users colanders? also how long dose it take to sync your time tables? I can't find our Prerequisites documentation at this moment in time but for Exchange they needed "Recipient Management" and then a costume setting (something to do with application impersonation)
kidpressingbuttons Posted March 12, 2020 Author Posted March 12, 2020 What sims ID are people using to get Salamder to work? Desperately need to get this working
thebatman Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 We are using SIMSID to link them to AD (you put the SIMSID into the employeeID attribute AD) If you call or send a email to Salamander they are very friendly and will explain in full everything that is needed to get what you want.
