Thants Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 Hello, I've tried installing .net framework 4.8 onto server 2016 in order to run some software - I did this via an executable from the Microsoft website. It took awhile, but appeared to go through the process okay. However, I can't seem to see a record of it having installed under Installed programs now when the server has come re-booted. Does it need installing a different way, or is the record of it being installed hidden away somewhere? Kind regards,

Edgehill Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 You can see .net framework in regedit, if you navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v4\Full" there is a "Version" key. 1
Thants Posted March 10, 2020 Author Posted March 10, 2020 Thanks, this seems to suggest it's an older version installed than what I thought I'd put on. I wonder if it's how I put it on then.
