OneDrive for Business - default to open in app?

Hello,

 

Is there a way we can set things up so that the default action when a student logs in using their web browser to OneDrive.com and accesses a document that it will open in the installed Office app instead of opening in Office Online in the browser?

 

Or alternatively if that's not possible, is there a way we can disable opening / force downloading of documents from OneDrive.com?

 

(We don't use the sync client at this time, so students all access their OneDrive when at college through the OneDrive.com website)
