Disaster Posted February 28, 2020 Posted February 28, 2020 Good afternoon all, We are currently trialing Edulink and so far, we think it is great. I'd love to get this in place but SLT are hung up on one particular feature and that is detentions. At the moment we have one type of detention, in the main hall, if you get a detention you go there. Up to 90 mins per day over 3x30min sessions. We can re create this which is good, however, if you want give a naughty pupil a detention, who already has quite a few detentions you have to keep trying to apply one until it you find a free slot. This could take a while.. So how do others go about detentions in Edulink (or even SIMS for that matter as the process is the same). We use PARS and think we had this feature added by request. Any help most appreciated. Cheers
forkies Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 We only open detentions for the following week (3 dt sessions a week, giving 24 hours notice out of courtesy so max 5 dts can be issued in one week) then if no DT sessions available the student is issued an internal exclusion. A report is run from sims each week and any student 4+ dts in a week is issued internal. Should say that it is the teacher issuing a DT responsibility to task the head of Year if no DT sessions available. Head of year responsible for issuing the internal. 1
