Do you block this site or not? We've blocked it for a while, as its been categorized as 'potentially adult material' in the past, plus it seems to be copyright ripped stuff.

 

We also noticed it seemed to be incredibly slow, but I suspect that it because its trying to pull in advert which are blocked.

 

However as is now the norm, teachers know better and want this site unblocked as its a 'valuable education resource' or in IT terms 'full of ripped off content we don't have to buy'

 

So do you still block it?

I had our MFL faculty demand that the site be unblocked as it was vital for teaching, but I had to dig my heels in and refuse. I had tried a search myself, for the keyword 'school' on the site and the first video that came up was a porn video.

We don't block it. The web logs show that nobody here accesses it.

It does seem to still be a 'risky' site to allow in my opinion. But I guarantee I will be overruled by SLT who will insist that teachers should be allowed access to a site that provides ripped films and programs....!

The site hosts adult material, so it is blocked here. Eg. Search "adult" and you'll find a bunch of copyright infringing rips of adult scenes from movies.

You need to go on the site in front of SLT and show them what can easily be found. Then see if they overrule you!!
