lespeirce Posted February 13, 2020 Posted February 13, 2020 We are a sixth form college and do not use session registers, just lesson registers. I can mark a whole days attendance for all lessons, but I cant see any way to select a time period within a day. Is there a way to mark just two periods for a group of students?
Esteban_Child_of_the_Sun Posted February 13, 2020 Posted February 13, 2020 in SIMS, Focus | Lesson Monitor | Edit Marks, select your class(es) and drag select the region you wish to add marks to, then click the key on the keyboard for the mark you wish to enter.

Thanks for that. Maybe our setup is the issue but Edit Marks only brings up Sessions, or maybe I am missing something. Any help would be much appreciated. Les
Esteban_Child_of_the_Sun Posted February 13, 2020 Posted February 13, 2020 Do you have the option under the group type selector?
lespeirce Posted February 13, 2020 Author Posted February 13, 2020 Do you have the option under the group type selector? Yes and thats selected, but whatever I choose I only get the option to mark AM or PM.
Esteban_Child_of_the_Sun Posted February 13, 2020 Posted February 13, 2020 Are you on half term? If so select a week your students are in.
lespeirce Posted February 13, 2020 Author Posted February 13, 2020 Sorry, I seem to be taking up a lot of your time, but thanks for trying. It isn't half-term here, hoping the image shows enough of what I see. Got any thoughts? Thanks Les
CAM Posted February 13, 2020 Posted February 13, 2020 Have you applied the timetable? Tools -> Academic Management -> Apply Timetable. This maps the periods sent over from the timetable to the periods defined in SIMS. Only do this during the holidays or afterschool though when people aren't using SIMS. Also check that lesson monitor is setup at Tools -> Setup -> Lesson Monitor -> Lesson Monitor Options where you need to define the periods for your AM sessions and PM sessions.

Thanks for your help on this - it looks like it was the Lesson Monitor Options had not been set up correctly. Of course I may have set them up wrong myself just now, but at least I can see the marks now. Thanks again, greatly appreciate your time. Les 1
Esteban_Child_of_the_Sun Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 You've got it set to display multiple weeks in Edit Marks, which is why it's hiding the lesson marks. If you go to 'Tools | Setups | Attendance Setup | Module Setup' and change the number of Weeks to display to 1, save, close the edit marks screen and re-open it after altering the setting.
lespeirce Posted February 14, 2020 Author Posted February 14, 2020 Thanks for your help. Much appreciated Les
