Can’t access live video from Hikvision NVR

Can anyone help?

 

I can access my Hikvision NVR and login to it but can’t see any video. It’s just grey boxes where there is meant to be images.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

 

- Tried all major browsers. Also tried it in Pale Moon. Tried on both PC and Mac.

No joy. Tried installing web components plugin but still get grey box.

 

- Tried putting NVR IP address in trusted sites and IE comparability mode. Didn’t work.

 

- Thought it maybe as I’m going via a 2nd router but that didn’t solve it, even when hooked up directly to same router.

 

 

So I can access the settings but no video feed. Just grey boxes.

I know it works as I can use the app.

 

 

Any ideas?

After plugin installs, have you given the browser permission to access it?

On slightly older NVR's, internet explorer is the best bet, Chrome for newer.

Thanksa synaesthesia. I'm nearly sure I did but will try and uninstall and re-install the plugin later this evening and see.

It will only work on Internet Explorer or using a IE plug on Chrome. You then have to double click on the left tree so it displays that image live, you will see a green light next to it.

Ah yes, and make sure that the little icon by the camera name on the left is set to stream 1 rather than stream 2.

I thought I’d update in case it helps others.

I’d set an encryption key and hadn’t updated it in the live view parameters encryption key settings. I’d only set it in the network settings.

All sorted now.
