steveg Posted February 7, 2020 Posted February 7, 2020 Splitting off from the other thread about CCTV software, it seems that different users are getting varying performance with luxriot software. Here it is quite slow to load to a specific time (up to 10 seconds) and playback, especially backwards can be very jerky and slow. Server is virtualised but a good spec, and a relatively small number of cameras (currently 8, but was same performance with 4. Can I check what cameras other people are using with it, and what settings? Here they are all hikvision cameras, and the settings on the camera are as follows: Resolution 3840 * 2160 Bitrate type: variable Video Quality: Medium Frame rate: 8fps Max bitrate: 5120Kbps Max Average bitrate: 2560Kbps Video Encoding: H.265 H.265+: On (on the newer cameras that support this) I have the same setup at home, only running off a pc, but just 1 older hikvision camera and performance is similarly bad.
steveg Posted February 12, 2020 Author Posted February 12, 2020 Do you have Hikvision cameras? How is performance on your system?
ap_ Posted February 19, 2020 Posted February 19, 2020 (edited) Luxriot support advised the following which worked a treat fixing the performance issues: "Can you please update to the Luxriot EVO 1.16.0 as we have greatly optimized the Monitor performance. You can see in the release notes: Significant playback and instant playback improvements (performance optimization, fully reworked timeline)" We have since purchased the product. I believe H.265+ might cause performance issues on non-Hikvision VMS at is proprietary (I think). It certainly didn't play nicely when we were testing out Hikvision cameras with Synology Surveillance. The 8MP Hikvision cameras are working fine with H.265 on Luxriot. If you have any issues during testing, I strongly recommend contacting Luxriot support who are very responsive and helpful. Edited February 19, 2020 by ap_
