Home CCTV Software Milestone vs Luxriot

Hi all,

 

Due to system failure I am having to rebuild my home server. I used iSpy for the CCTV software but found it buggy. I am looking at the free versions of Milestone and Luxriot. Any recommendations?

I quite like milestone, but the licencing cost is high. You can have 8 devices on the free one and that can include DVRs if you have the rtsp url. That means you can have 8 x 16 cameras going potentially.

 

I do want to try out luxriot soon.

 

The other option to consider is something like the Hikvision DVRs and NVRs

@Chris_Cook Thanks mate. It is for my home, I have IP Camera's at the front window looking at the front path and at the back window looking at the garden. I have motion sensored lights at both areas so have turned off the IR on the camera's, as they would just reflect off the windows.

 

Both look good and I have heard good and bad things about both. Might just set up both bits of software and see which I get on better with.

At my last school we had Luxriot and it was rock solid and easy to use.
