itgeek Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 Hi, I need to make sure that users are unable to delete the deleted items if that makes sense? What does everyone set the litigation days to? Can you do this is bulk? Is the litigation hold the correct way to do this? Thanks
pete Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 We used retention settings to set a default 180 days for everyone. (Security & Compliance > Information Governance > Retention). You'll need to set a separate policy for Teams if you're using it. Unless they've fixed it, you couldn't include teams in a policy with everything else. 1
NicholasEsping Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 What we do is set a retention policy so if a user deletes items out of their mailbox they are still retained within office 365 and you can find them using a content search as a global admin. In office 365 if you go to Security and Compliance\Information governance\Retention This policy can apply to just exchange or you can set it for. Onedrive, Sharepoint, and groups as well. Education customers have the ability to retain information forever. 1
Ditto Posted January 31, 2020 Posted January 31, 2020 With a GDPR hat on, I'd also suggest talking this through with your Data Protection officer. Ideally, you need to match your Microsoft technical policies, with the document version, in this case to follow what's set out in the 'Retention Policy' if you have one.
