unifi Ap's

Sorry for the lazy post. Need to deploy unifi in a school, theres a huge range of aP's and no good comparison chart.

 

Which Ap's are you guys using?

We use the Unifi AC Pro's and the Unifi Mesh HD (Outdoor) across the site. They work really well although I have found recently that since a latest firmware update the AP's signal doesn't travel as far as it once did.

 

I purchased some AC Nano's for my house that work incredibly well also. Just make sure it has 4x4 MIMO.

 

Personally if I was you and was looking to deploy a new Unifi Wireless network I'd hold out a bit longer and either purchase the AC's cheaper in the future or wait for their new AX (Wifi 6) lineup to be released which is anticipated end of this year.

We went for one each of the Ubiquiti UniFi nanoHD (around £150) and the Ubiquiti UniFi UAP-AC-HD (around £270) to try out in two locations before commiting to any more purchases. The UAP-AC-HD can team two 1gbps ports (assuming switch support, which is pretty widespread), both are supplied power via PoE.

We've had ours in for a few years now. Mostly Unifi AC-AP-Pro with a handful of AC-AP-Lites where range/speed wasn't so important.

 

+1 for 4gon - that's where we got ours from and they were consistently the cheapest and provided great service.

We have Nano HDs and AC Pros here. I've found the AC Pros to be the most reliable. Some of the Nano HDs crash now and again and have to be power cycled, but the AC Pros have been rock solid.

Weird, I don't have Nano HD's at work so maybe that's it but I do have some at home and never had them crash.
