dobbyit Posted January 29, 2020 Posted January 29, 2020 Hello all, we use RM for our broadband, filtering and office365. Just wondering if their school network support contracts they offer to support sophos, veeam, etc is worth it taking out with them offering remote support only.
AlanD Posted January 29, 2020 Posted January 29, 2020 It's a good question. I never thought RM support was cheap, but to be fair I would have difficulty faulting the quality of what they provide. Whenever I had a problem, unless it was something I knew immediately how to fix, I made them my first port of call. Often they would connect remotely and fix deployment of updates, packages, deployment of workstations or whatever. Not worth a whole extra technician, but probably half a technician.. And one that really knows his stuff. The other plus, is that it offers a degree of security for the school, should you get a better offer and decide to leave them. The downside with RM stuff is always feeling you are trying to do a job with one arm tied behind your back... But that also stops you from making mistakes and messing things up. 1
TomHD Posted January 29, 2020 Posted January 29, 2020 I'll second the first response... expensive, yes, but they do offer excellent support and have quickly solved every issue I've ever had. They even managed to fix a broadband issue we had that was nothing to do with RM/CC4, this was after numerous visits from our broadband supplier who couldn't find or fix the issue 1
dobbyit Posted January 29, 2020 Author Posted January 29, 2020 Thanks for info, I’ve been quoted around £600 a year fair usage support. Another company wants £3600 year unlimited support and onsite support. Personal touch, somebody on site that knows set up Another company wants £5500 a year same support as above

Little late to this topic - but yes RM will support Sophos, Veeam and other 3rd party apps. It will depend on what lvl of contract you are looking at with RM tho. Have a chat with one of the account managers and they will be able to go though it all with you
