Not sure if there is a way to do this...

There is one location that the students can save to and I'm trying to lock it down!

Opening a program (even something simple like notepad, paint or the snipping tool) and clicking 'Save As' then clicking the 'Up one level' arrow as far as you can go.

SAVE AS 1.jpg

This eventually takes them to the 'Desktop' and there is a folder for the 'user' amongst other things and they are able to save in that folder.

SAVE AS 2.jpg

I know a lot of programs use the %USERPROFILE% folder (I can see the NTUSER.DAT in mine) or the folders within it (%APPDATA% folder etc.) so is it even possible?

To remove the Personal Folder from the desktop are the following details...

Path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\NonEnum

Value: {59031a47-3f72-44a7-89c5-5595fe6b30ee}

Type: dword

Value: 1

Hope this helps.
