Jawloms Posted January 7, 2020 Posted January 7, 2020 FMS is not sending emails externally, and apparently hasn't been for ages but I've only just found out. The report says "It was not possible to e-mail the BACS remittance advice for supplier (Supplier's name) on BACS run xxx. Received error message was: 550 5.7.1 Unable to relay. Failed when sending RCPT TO:. Send failed." I've done some Googling and found this; 1. Start Exchange Server Manager 2. Go to Administrative Groups in the Exchange Server Manager 3. Select Administrative Group Name, select Server and then the Server Name 4. Next, click on Protocols and select SMTP 5. Then right-click Default SMTP Virtual Server to select Properties 6. Click on Access tab and then click on Relay to select only the list below 7. Next, select the IP that you want to relay and the domain 8. Finally, check the box associated with “Allow all computers which successfully authenticate to relay regardless of the list above” 9. Close all opened tabs. The SMTP Server now enables you to send emails Do I really want to be doing that? Stuart
smadison Posted January 7, 2020 Posted January 7, 2020 If you are on Office 365 send me a PM with an email address
Jawloms Posted January 7, 2020 Author Posted January 7, 2020 On-site Exchange server. It sends fine to internal addresses, just nothing external. Stuart
mikes Posted January 7, 2020 Posted January 7, 2020 I had to set up relaying for our SIMS server's IP address in exchange. Haven't had anyone sending out spam from our systems. Do you have a spam solution as you might need to enable relaying in that. I use ASSP as an SMTP proxy. FMS was a pain as it kept on forgetting that I'd entered the mailserver details, and the next friday batch no mail would go out 1
