Is there any downside to Gmail and DKIM setup?

Morning all,

We're in the middle of migrating from Exchange onsite to Gmail and am looking at setting up DKIM but wondered if there is any downside to using it. I only ask because I talked to our ISP about adding the required txt to our domain's DNS and they said "yes it's a good idea but can cause issues".

 

I'm not a man who needs issues so just want to take the tentative approach to this although it looks as simple as adding the txt key to our DNS...

 

Any gotchas I should know about? Should I wait until we are fully on Gmail?

Shouldn't be a problem. The Google Admin pages guide you through it nicely and verify that your DNS record is correct before turning it all on, so you can't really foul it up. Even if you still have some mail going out from Exchange, you'll be okay as you don't have to suddenly have to make sure that all of your domain's emails are being signed with DKIM simply because that's what you've got Gmail doing.
