Chris2785 Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 Hi all. When a user runs a word template from sims, word should open with the add in tab across the top but it doesn't. I have checked the group policy settings and macros are enabled and certain users are in that security tab but it still won't show the add ins tab. Windows 10 Office 2016 Any ideas? Thanks
Knil92 Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 is it a mail merge report template they are opening? if it is, then the data tags will be under the mailings tab in the insert merge fields
Chris2785 Posted December 19, 2019 Author Posted December 19, 2019 It's an individual report - word template.
Knil92 Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 Is the trust settings set to disable all macros?
Chris2785 Posted December 19, 2019 Author Posted December 19, 2019 All macros are enabled, and there are a few trusted locations.
Knil92 Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 Thats an odd one, do you get the add ins tab when you go to design a report and edit the template field?
Chris2785 Posted December 19, 2019 Author Posted December 19, 2019 no, sometimes the addin tab appears but more often than not it doesnt. I should say its a group policy problem somewhere along the line
Knil92 Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 Does the add in's tab appear when you log in as an administrator on the workstation?
ITdude Posted June 8, 2023 Posted June 8, 2023 Hi Chris, I have a very similar issue at the moment and I too am learning towards group policy. Did you ever sort this issue out?
