Our business manager deleted the shortcuts to the SIMS Personnel module from his desktop and start menu and wanted them back. On thinking I knew or could find what that was and would be called and swiftly create a new one I came out scratching my head! ...Does anyone know what it's called and where it is?? Thanks muchly.
BKGarry Posted December 13, 2019 Posted December 13, 2019 Errrrr, I know this sounds like the dumbest thing every, but I though the Personnel module was scrapped about 12 years ago and everything moved into the Staff part in SIMS .net I mean I can't even launch the programs as they are not supported on a 64bit OS 1

BKGarry Posted December 13, 2019 Posted December 13, 2019 Well in your SIMS Drive should be a SIMS folder and in there is personw.exe but I do believe you have to set a LAN ID somewhere in computer properties to even use it. I honestly thought it wasn't to be used at all anymore. 1
Boredguy Posted December 13, 2019 Posted December 13, 2019 Errm, it's all within SIMS.Net these days. You can not remove the shortcut to personnel unless you revoke the access rights. 1
BKGarry Posted December 13, 2019 Posted December 13, 2019 That is what I am thinking, she hasn't collapsed the left side shortcut bar in SIMS .net and means that by chance :-) 1
Boredguy Posted December 13, 2019 Posted December 13, 2019 If they go to Focus -> Person -> Staff they should still have access to Personnel. If it's the Shortcut within SIMS, right click in the Shortcuts Section (if not collapsed) and add a new panel, then add Internal Shortcut and go through the same branch as above. 1
JRA Posted December 13, 2019 Author Posted December 13, 2019 Actually it turns out to be wronger even than I thought. I asked if it was SIMS itself this morning, and it turns out that they meant they can't open SIMS and it's in SIMS. Despite me asking that and being told it wasn't. The actual problem is no SIMS shortcut and they were talking about SIMS all along. I need a lie down. Thank you all so much.
