HI all just taken up my new post and have issues with RM easymail. The problem is that I have been set up as unresicted user but i can not email my old email address just keeps bouncing back as no known email address. I know that this email address is still there and working as i can log into my exchange acount and get to read and send email from this acount. Could it be something to do with bexley.sch.uk part of the email address or something to do with this? as somewhere in the easymail website it says something about local school etc any ideas?

In the easymail admin centre you can restrict who users can email. For example, our pupils can only email .sch.uk addresses and .educ.somerset.gov.uk addresses.

It may be worth getting in contact with RM and letting them know about your problem as i've experienced similar things in the past which turned out to be a worm in system

Log in to your administration system and check which Group your email is a member of.

Go to the Groups tab and edit the group to check the settings:

The resriction list should be UNRESTRICTED (their caps!)

Click on Apply changes

I'm just wondering whether both your RM email and exchange email addresses have the @bexley.sch.uk suffix... If your email accounts are simply being hosted by RM now instead of your exchange server, your exchange server accounts will not work.

I'm currently looking at the corporate version Google Apps, which includes E-mail and Calendar, and is free to Edu. Looks very powerful and useful. Maybe a good alternative to your own Exchange server and an easy way of hosting your own school wide e-mail accounts?

What's everyone's feelings on RM Easymail?

I am looking for alternatives to our current system.

It works as we want here but the alias administration/maintenance is terrible and really needs a re-think i think
