Hmm so in other words HPE got caught red handed adding built in obsolescence into their SSD firmware but are now calling it a "bug".

No I don’t think so. Reads like this is on the SSD manufacture, not HP.

Other SSDs have had similar bugs in their firmware. The Crucial M4 stopped working after 5,184 hours and Intel's DC S4510/S4610 Series SSDs hung at 1,700 hours.

 

I wonder who makes HPEs SSDs? :D

Anyone know how to UD the FW in a SAN? the firmware update software is all designed to run on a host OS?

 

and if your servers are out of warranty....you can't fix them either as no entitlement GRRRRR
