Moving to inTune

We've got about 60 ipad 2's, they used to be managed using Configurator via a Mac server, and all was good; we'd download any app updates, connect the ipads during the holidays, have them all revert back to a backup and deploy the app updates.

Can we do something similar with inTune?

Are the iPads now too old? If so, can anyone recommend a decent and not too expensive Android alternative?
