Dos_Box Posted November 22, 2019 Posted November 22, 2019 You can view the page at EduGeek.net - PaperCut makes BYOD printing free for everyone
bald_pig Posted November 22, 2019 Posted November 22, 2019 Nothing to do with Google Cloud Print being killed off, honest guv!
jasonatpapercut Posted November 25, 2019 Posted November 25, 2019 Nothing to see here, please move along and enjoy Mobility Print :-)
smarties11 Posted November 26, 2019 Posted November 26, 2019 We've been using Mobility Print since it was first released (we are a PaperCut NG customer) and I have to say it's an amazing piece of software. So easy to set up too. Our BYOD students and stuff wouldn't be without it.
IGB Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 Am I right in thinking that there's no accounting with this and therefore no way to restrict printing?
localzuk Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 Am I right in thinking that there's no accounting with this and therefore no way to restrict printing? Yes, you'd need to have PaperCut NG or MF as well to do that part.
IGB Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 Yes, you'd need to have PaperCut NG or MF as well to do that part. Ah ok, so we run PaperCut MF here, so that will then sort out printing accounts and charging on BYOD as well then?
localzuk Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 Ah ok, so we run PaperCut MF here, so that will then sort out printing accounts and charging on BYOD as well then? Yes. The Mobility Print was already something you could install anyway with MF. This just makes that part free for everyone else.
sted Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 does anyone know how this works if your copier has codes on it and you try to print from say a chromebook? does it ask for codes or does the printjob just disappear into the ether?
bald_pig Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 If you use account selection at the client end, you will need to bypass that for mobility print. Chromebooks should prompt for credentials when printing.
robk Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 Anyone know if this can be used with say Equitrac (as a replacement for EveryonePrint)? From memory Everyoneprint connects via a LPR print queue so accounting etc still works. I have 12 months to go before I can switch to paper cut...
