Jaan Posted November 18, 2019 Posted November 18, 2019 Hi all, Just pushed, the Schoolcomms 9.6K MSI out via GPO. Was working fine before this, but somebody had been told that a bug we were affected by had been addressed. Removed the old deployment and created a new one with the newer 9.6k .msi. It installs fine. just after you have tried to login i get the below error...... anybody else having this issue? Can find anything in the event viewer.
FragglePete Posted November 18, 2019 Posted November 18, 2019 We've had this. Only way I've been able to fix it is to manually remove Schoolcomms app using Control Panel, and let the App get re-installed again via GPO. Pete
caffrey Posted November 18, 2019 Posted November 18, 2019 I thought it was just me, but getting the same. Not had many reports but I don't think many staff use it... I wonder if it's to do with the DLL not getting updated but haven't checked that far

Jaan Posted November 18, 2019 Author Posted November 18, 2019 i've managed to do this centrally. I redeployed the older 9.6d and checked "uninstall if it fails out of scope" or words to that effect.... rebooted all machine a couple of times. then i marked it for removal immediately. couple of restarts laster, schoolcomms is no longer installed. then deployed the 9.6K the same way.... that also worked. However i get a UAC prompt that relates to the .dll not being installed. Which it is as i push that via gpo also.... will have another play tomorrow.
