ComboSmith Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 Hi all, I am trying to change the USB settings in our GPO power plan, it is causing some issues. The issue I have is the power plan settings in GPO doesn't have the option for USB settings so I can't configure it. I've attatched a screenshot to show what I mean If anybody can point me in the right direction that would be great
ShellfishClive Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 I believe you can only Enable or Disable this GPO. There is a thread here: https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/1945820-windows-10-gpo-usb-selective-suspend-setting This should explain how do to it, it needs reg keys as the GPO aren't available for this setting you want. 1
ComboSmith Posted November 12, 2019 Author Posted November 12, 2019 That seems to work for Windows 7 only, but it did put me in the right directrion. After some surfing and tinkering I have found this command which will disable it within the balanced power plan: powercfg.exe -setacvalueindex 381b4222-f694-41f0-9685-ff5bb260df2e 2a737441-1930-4402-8d77-b2bebba308a3 48e6b7a6-50f5-4782-a5d4-53bb8f07e226 0 I have set this to run as a startup script and it appears to do the job. I found the command and instructions to modify it as necessary here: Extra Parts: Disabling USB Selective Suspend via a GPO on Windows 7
Alis_Klar Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 What issue was being caused that you needed to keep USB on when in sleep?
