Hi All,

I've been asked about this recently and it seems every option we have has been shutdown so far. So what do you use / how do you use ebooks in school no Android?

- Pitfalls so far

I've been asked about using ebooks on some Android devices in school. Initially we were going to use Amazon Kindle App as some teachers already use the online reader for this. I spoke with Amazon who said their were no device limits and that we were covered in terms of licenses to have it on all our devices in school with one purchase of the ebook (seemed too good to be true for the cost benefits but thought great!).

We have run for a couple of weeks like this then yesterday had the app throw up an error saying the book is in use on too many devices after launching the book on more than 10 simultaneously. Having spoken to Amazon again they have said there's been a change and it's now up to the publisher to set limits, most going with 6 device limit per book.

Decided to try Google Play Books instead but could find no information on how to buy multiple licenses / deploy books using G Suite so spoke to their support. They say the functionality for managing licensed apps / books was depreciated 3 months ago, meaning you can no longer bulk buy Google Play content and push to devices - their suggest workaround been manually purchasing and installing the content on each tablet.

A teacher has suggested having multiple amazon accounts and using each account across 5 devices however this is going to be a pain to manage and most likely against licensing terms.

Can anyone suggest how we can go about this / how do you do this? Ideally the school want to use Android rather than iPads (else iBooks with a VPP would be the obvious answer).
