Android tablets for EAL students

Hi all,

 

We have some android tablets that I have been asked to setup for our EAL students to use for translation etc. I want to be able to look after and manage them remotely, what would be the best way to do this. I want to be able to lock settings, prevent them messing with the background (putting live wallpaper on - this kills the tablets), install apps remotely etc.

 

Is there any free/open source mobile device management software that I can use for this?
