jakalan7 Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 Hello all, Has anyone here had any experience of installing Windows 10 onto intel based iMacs? We have a suite of Macs, but due to limited functionality and Apple Profile Manager being so hit and miss, we were looking at replacing them with Windows machines. However, it's going to be hard to convince the school to buy 16 new computers, which is why we are considering keeping the hardware but changing the OS. The OS install itself looks quite straight forward to do through Boot camp, but we have a long list of software that we need to install too - which is usually done through a WDS task sequence, has anyone had any experience doing this? Thanks in advance.
Rob_D Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 We've got a suite of Macs with windows installed. I wasn't involved in setting it up, but I know we can deploy apps through WDS task sequences fine. Although I've only ever done it using an applications-only sequence after windows was installed.
jakalan7 Posted October 14, 2019 Author Posted October 14, 2019 Interesting, thank you. Do you know if Windows was installed using Bootcamp before the WDS task sequence was applied?
Rob_D Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 Yeah, it's a bootcamp install of windows - all the times I've done any application installs on them windows has already been installed before we start the task sequence.
