Koldov Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 Couldn't decide on the best place for this post... My Headteacher does some work for Ofsted and the work he does requires that he uses Power Apps from MS to connect to some sort of Ofsted reporting database within the app. We purchased a decent spec (i7 - 8GB RAM - SSD) Windows laptop for him, but he prefers using the iPad as it's easier to move around the school he is in and type as he goes.. This has caused no end of headaches for me as he is a big Apple fan and really only uses his Macbook pro and iPad pro, but after a lot of messing about I managed to get Power Apps on his iPad. Anyway, after about 30 minutes of using Power Apps on the iPad it slows down to a crawl and becomes unresponsive. He has also tried using the Windows laptop and says that exhibits the same behaviour. Now he is asking me why... and can I sort it out... I don't know anything about Power Apps, what it does or how it works, however hundreds of Google hits tells me that is a known issue. Is it an issue with the Power Apps itself or the way the app inside is written and what it connects to? There is no way I can see what is happening (as it's sensitive Ofsted material) and no way I can replicate the behaviour as the only time he can use it is when he is 'live' at a school he is inspecting...
Brimstone Posted September 30, 2019 Posted September 30, 2019 Are these running through a browser..? If not....MS Power Apps essentially run through a container (think like a VM) so it's down to the app in the end. 1
