Odd LIberum Problem

Finally got this working!

but in trying to customise it for the school , i have encountered a strange problem..

 

I have renamed one of the labels in ./user/new/.asp file but when I go to the webiste the new text is enclosed with @ symbols

 

eg @Classroom@ instead of just Classroom

 

I can find no explanation of why this has happened.. everything works fine - the textbox displays correctly and the data inside it is submitted to SQL Server correctly..

 

Anyone got any ideas??

It's to do with Liberum's language handling, it's trying to look up "Classroom" and failling, you can either add classroom to the vocabulary "Help Desk Administration" - Manage Languages - Strings - Add New, or remove the lookup instruction.

Nothing to do with Gatt's problem, but I'm bumping this as I've discovered a couple of Liberum oddities that I hope fellow users might be able to help with:

 

When I'm logged in as a user, or an administrator, the footer with the "User Menu | Rep Menu | Log Off" options has the incorrect URL syntax

(eg: my Log Off has "http:///helpdesk/logon.asp/logoff.asp"). All of the URLs have the errant logon.asp stuck in the middle.

 

Any ideas how to change the footer? I can see it referenced, but not where it lives..

 

Also, I cannot get mine to work in Firefox - I've the same proxy settings as IE, but it just isn't happy! Anyone got around this one?

Got the @ problem sorted, and getting ready to roll the thing out (got HMI in next 2 days so nows not a good time!!)

 

Another oddity - ODBC errors when the session times out!!

 

Also gonna look at modifying it so that it is in the same style as the staff intranet site - just curious if anyone has implemented this?

Are you using version 0.97.3 ? I've not seen either problem (with this version), URLs look fine at school or from home with IE and Firefox.

I tweaked the colours in the css, just to see what happened and have had no problem with it.

I'm considering using the current .asp files as INCLUDE files inside a template for our own intranet schema.. should work ok i reckon - though will prob have to modify some links here and there!

as I recall, changing the css styles is pretty straightforward, so long as you stick to changing colours. be careful if you want to change font size though (I think this applies to liberum - tried quite a few helpdesks and can't remember if it was liberum) as it has a fixed width table.

Are you using version 0.97.3 ? I've not seen either problem (with this version), URLs look fine at school or from home with IE and Firefox.

Indeed, I have 0.97.3, going to have a tweak/fight with it in a while...

ETA: My "base URL" was incorrect in my configuration settings - I'd added the 'logon.asp', so the footer was built using that. Removed 'logon.asp' from the URL, everything's right for user navigation again (hurrah)

 

 

WRT Firefox: We are using ISA Server, I wonder if this has anything to do with it, although I've told Firefox not to look to ISA for local IPs...
