Intermittent Chrome Downloads

We have an intermittent issue with downloading files in Chrome, most of the time the files will download normally and open correctly, however sometimes the file will appear to download but the downloaded file will not open and is not present in the directory the file was downloaded into. We are redirecting the users Chrome profile to the users home drive so that settings can roam with users. Has anyone else experienced this issue and found a resolution?
