[1809, ou] Offline Files & Office replacing files with .TMP files

Hello,

 

We use offline files as well as folder redirection for our staff laptops. We're experiencing this issue on a few of the Windows 10 laptops, this hasn't been an issue for anyone who is still on Windows 7.

 

The issue is explained in this technet post and showcased in

video. A member of staff will open/modify an office document (only been noticed on Word/Powerpoint files so far) and after it syncs, it'll change the entire file to XXXXX.pptx~XXXX.TMP. We can get it back for them temporarily by just renaming the file but the root cause hasn't been fixed.

 

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue at all? The technet post doesn't reference any fixes for the issues. I've yet to try formatting the offline files cache as I want to backup the offline files cache beforehand to prevent any potential data loss (and the teachers can't spare their laptops yet!)

Did you ever get this issue resolved? I have the same problem at the moment with a user who happens to be the head teacher so looking for potential fixes.

 

Have tried all the usual foxes with no luck.

I didn't ever get a proper fix - we migrated from Offline Files to Work Folders instead. Have had no issues like this with work folders
