3rd Gen Apple TV's failing to install latest update

We have nearly 50 3rd Gen (A1469) models installed in classrooms, they are on either software release 7.2 or 7.3, they are ALL failing to install the latest update which I believe is 7.3.1

 

Has anyone got any 3rd Gen Apple TV's that they have been able to upgrade to the latest version successfully?

It gets to : Step 1 of 2: Preparing Update...

 

Then jumps to; "The update was not successful"

Is it possible that they are trying to use an update that is no longer being signed by Apple?

 

As per IPSW.ME these are the current updates that are signed and available to use on Apple TVs

Yeah I noticed that too. Region differences maybe? I know that on iOS it is possible to delete downloaded updates and redownload them from Apple not sure if the same is possible with AppleTV. Might be worth a go though.

The Apple TV version and the iOS versions are not the same thing.

 

If you look in the table of versions here, you'll see that Apple TV 7.3 is actually iOS 8.4.2
