All other Win logo Key combinations work ie Win+L locks the screen and Win+E opens File Explorer.

I have not blocked Hot Keys in Group Policy.

Any ideas why it would not work please?

Only time I've seen this myself is with some software from our Trust. Whatever idiot wrote it actually hard-coded the Windows Key + P combo into a shortcut that works when the app is open and it actually overrides those Windows key functions.

I'll be honest - I didn't think crappy software could do that, but I was wrong. Exit that app and Windows key + P works as normal.

Are your graphics drivers installed correctly?

Updated the drivers to latest on Intel site. Still no joy.

Strangely it works when the PC is locked by the user but not when logged in.

I know this is obvious - but win+P doesn't do anything when there is no second monitor

hence is doesn't seem to have identified the monitor

not sure how this helps but it does point to either a faulty device/cable - or driver - or socket

I did say it was obvious

Thing is if the user locks the pc then uses win+p it works and gives the options for extend, duplicate etc. There is always a projector attached and it works when locked just not when logged in.

Ok - so not cable or projector or socket then

Does the lock screen use different drivers or driver modes than normal mode??

Have you tried the projector screen in different resolutions??
