Empty DNS

My DNS forward lookup zone is empty in my domain.

 

no references to anything

 

 

Yet something is resolving addresses for me.. I don't even know where to start troubleshooting this! Has anyone got any ideas?

Definitely on the right DNS server?

 

More than one server? Replication broken?

First things first... On a client run command and type..

 

nslookup my_server_name

 

(replace my_server_name with your server name)

 

It'll show you what is resolving your DNS.

Sorry about my dely getting back to people on this and thanks for your help.

Everything was working in DNS / resolving okay / new PCs being registered (I think)...

 

Then I found the schoolboy error, I'd ticked the filter view box and it put a default in of AUTO - which showed nothing. Unticked filter box, all happy...
