Forticloud

Hi, I was wondering if anybody currently uses Forticloud (subscription) and could let me know how good the reports are, do they offer reports based on usernames, blocked words, blocked website and so on, similar to the Netsweeper daily report

 

I have a couple of small primary schools due for renewal and I am looking at the fortinet and sophos, both are similar price but not used Sophos before

Forticloud is good and you can do reports by username depending on how your setup works with the installed Fortigate.

 

Fortianalyzer has more functionality than Forticloud. There are example reports you can see on the Fortinet website.

 

Although good, we find Netsweeper reporting is better for filtering than Forticloud or Fortianalyzer.

 

I cant comment on Sophos but I think theres been a few threads on here saying reporting is a bit lacking.

If you are looking at a FortiGate to do your security and Web Filtering, I'd agree with the above and suggest a FortiAnalyzer.

 

While out the box the K-12 specific reports are a bit lacking, as everything is stored in the FortiAnalyzer database and just requires being extracted and represented in charts/reports there is a custom K-12 reporting dataset and templates that can be imported and customised which apparently will be added to the out-the-box installation in the near future.
