Hi everyone

Iv joined your forum to try and get help with a little problem I have with British Telecom

The departments at BT cant get together to find out when the supplier of Versatility Handsets either went out of business or had the contract to supply cancelled. Local BT Staff suggest it was 2013, but unsure when. After they ceased to supply the handsets, it is suggested (again by Local BT Staff) that three years after the end of supply of new, they could supply reconditioned, service, repair and generally overhaul the handsets, taking us to 2016??

I am still getting charged for maintenance, even though I have had a new system (Yealink T46s handsets) installed last November 2018

Can anyone on this forum give me a bit of a heads-up on any of the above information (or lack of....)

I thank you kind people in advance

Have a happy day

Hmm, I think we need some clarification here, you are paying maintenance on the Versatility handsets, but have had new handsets installed (the T46s) but you think you are paying for maint on the old handsets?

Are you not just paying maintenance on the phone system rather than the specific handsets?

Hi, and thank you for your reply

You understand my situation perfectly.

I had a new phone system supplied and installed in january this year. I placed a confirmed order at end of november, but with christmas and holidays of staff, it was january when installed.

Now in july i have received (another) quarterly invoice from BT for charges for maintenance on my OLD system (Versatility). When i adked the question why am i still being billed, i was offered a credit going back to when I placed the order.

My question is when did BT stop being able to maintain the Versatitity system in the first place, so i can argue that my credit should go back to that time.

The reason i have a new system is because BT could not replace my old one like for like because it was 'obsolete'. I was left with no choice but to order a new system. I was very happy with the system, the handsets were however, starting to give problems.

Hope this makes clear my predicament

Xx

Hi MatthewL

I was told by the sales rep from BT that all that is taken care of.

When replacing the old landline telephone system I also had the company mobile contract ( 7 phones) moved over as BT now own EE. Also the broadband connection and box were upgraded too

So lots going on and, as I say, the sales team at BT were taking care of the detail

I suppose then, the answer to your question is, No, I didnt cancel the contract for maintenance of the old system

(Sad face)
