Cross domain policies - between root and subdomain

I have a root domain on 2K3 and a staff subdomain on 2K server.

 

I do loopback processing to assign start menus to machines.

 

Users in the root domain pick up the correct menu no problem. Users in the staff subdomain pick up the local default.

 

Can anyone give me any pointers on how to get this to work.

Using Merge or Replace mode? Might be worth checking that you are in fact using the mode that applies the policy you want.

Thanks Paul. Gave me some ideas but still no joy. Not given it the full time to propagate yet tho' so maybe in the morning if i'm lucky!

 

I can always write over a default profile with one containing the correct start menu - the start menus are simplified to a handful across the whole site. You never know - one day I could maybe ditch roaming profiles!
