Morning all,

We're currently undertaking a project to decommission our existing VLE and move to either Teams for Education or Google Classroom. We're currently a O365 school. However if we move to Google Classroom, we will also move our cloud based email etc from O365 to GSuite.

I have lots of evidence from people who use Classroom and how much they like it. However, there seems to be fewer schools who run Teams. Reading MS's announcement on Monday, it looks like there will be quite a few changes over summer to bring it more in line with Google.

I just wondered if any Teams users could give me their feedback on how it works?

Less help I know but if you do decide to go the classroom route set up SSO between O365 and G Suite and disable Gmail in your G Suite instance. Using Chromebooks here in a fully 365 environment. Easy as and free.

Both MS and Google are syncing data using IMS OneRoster spec, so SIMS ID Lite should work.

MS is talking about syncing grade data back to other systems, don't think Google is yet.

Mostly it depends on whether your teachers are used to OneNote or Google Docs. MS TfE is basically Slack+OneNote+Grading, problem is it was never designed for schools, and is still new. On the other hand they have a load of people working on normal Teams.

Where are the Collins etc selling digital resources compatible with these platforms though? Either get PDF or Word files that are designed for printing.
