Hello, we are now looking to buy PC's with no VGA out but still inevitably have a lot of rooms with VGA cabling kits. Can anyone recommend a proven converter from HDMI/Display Port to VGA suitable for up to 5m VGA runs?

Thanks

ive recabled some with 10m vga leads... so yes some are over 5m others maybe not... probably best to order some and try... but we havent had any issues using hdmi adaptors... i have had some issues with old VGA wiering and new laptops just not working and had to rewire the vga but that is a different story issue...

Not had many issues with running VGA projectors using an HDMI-VGA adaptor, however:

On some machines, I have had to use powered adaptors (USB powered was fine) - predominantly netbooks and ultrabooks, but also a couple of USFF machines.

walking adaptors/USB mini cables - If its a desktop, lock it in place to at least make it a bit harder for them

sound - some machines (or users) will change the sound output to HDMI, rather than the nice audio jack you have plugged into your machine. Just a heads up, can be a bit of a pain.

For most of them, we used U-Green and startech adaptors from Amazon issue free.

I have put a startech Display Port to VGA converted onto a test classroom and the projector is showing the wrong resolution. It should duplicate the display of the computer - 1280 x 1024 but it is showing as 1920 x 1080. In advanced display the settings are as screenshot, the 'Active System Resolution' is wrong. Any ideas?
