Hello,

We have a RM Diskbox and when logging in to do some routine updates we are getting this attached Alert pop up. Would this be a indication of one of the drives failing?

Yes that's a very similer message to the one we are getting. One of our drives also has quite a few Media Error Counts. Would this be the drive thats throwing up all the alerts?

It would probably make your life easier but guessing the age of the device I'd guess that might be tricky. Have you contacted RM to see what price they can get you a drive for? If they are too expensive any compatible drive will do. If you list the make and model etc others may be able to help as well.

Thanks for all your help. It's a Toshiba MG03ACA 2 TB and like you suspect sourcing a replacement is tricky. Lot of places no longer sell them.

Media error = bad sectors. That drive needs to be replaced.

On many (most) controllers you can use a different make and model drive as long as it is the same type (SAS / SATA)

Not sure about the RM Diskbox though, they're like a decade old aren't they?
