I have this showing on my iLO;

 

 

Does it mean the controller has failed, or that a cache module has failed which is replaceable on it's own?

A quick Google suggests replacing the Smart Storage Battery.

That was my conclusion too, so £60 later I've replaced the battery and it still says it. I assumed I'd Googled incorrectly which is why I posted on here. Unless there is something I'm supposed to do once I've replaced the battery?

Looks like you need to update your firmware, This doc suggests that older firmware won't enable the cache again.

Replacing the cache battery might fix the problem . All error messages went away shorty after booting the system up with the new battery.The new battery is the P420i with 512MB.

Thanks for that. I'll give it a go. No idea when as of course it has to be one of the servers holding the most frequently used data........
