Hi all,

Sorry, I know I have seen this but I can't remember, is it possible to redirect the libraries (Quick access, frequent folders) from file explorer, as at the moment they are trying to go to the c drive user folders to a UNC path?

Cheers

I think your looking for these GPO's

User Configuration | Policies | Windows Settings | Folder Redirection | Documents = Redirect to the user's home directory

User Configuration | Policies | Windows Settings | Folder Redirection | Pictures = Follow the Documents folder

User Configuration | Policies | Windows Settings | Folder Redirection | Music = Follow the Documents folder

Thanks Matt. I have setup folder redirection and that is all working. But for some reason the quick access folders are still trying to access C:\User..... etc. And because c drive is blocked we get the "The operation has been cancelled....." error.

Thanks

I'll have to take another look at my policies as I can't see anything else that might affect this.

It's possible there is something in the user profile forcing it to reference the C:\users......

That shouldn't make a difference, we use local profiles too.

If you have a customised Default User Profile that may cause issues. You can also open Libraries within Explorer and right click on Documents to see where the link is pointing to, it may show that it's pointing to more than one location. This may help confirm a conflict between the User Profile and any GPO's and confirm whether your GPO is applying at all.

It's a user policy which will only apply to a domain user, how will it work for a local user account?

We've disabled "Quick access" on shared computers. If you disable "Quick access" in File Explorer you'll also need to make the default to open at "This PC" or you'll get an error when opening File Explorer.

For non-shared devices where "Quick access" is enabled the folder redirection works as expected for the "Frequent folder".

Libraries are hidden by default in File Explorer.

I do find this approach looks much cleaner.
