FatBoy Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 Hi Guys, I found a great piece of software that does everything you want in a tin for deploying, controlling and viewing Ultra VNC on computers all for FREE It also lets you manage computers and every time you open it the software dynamically updates all the computers on your domain, unlike others I have used in the past. It's a quick and easy install and takes seconds to setup Try it out and let me know how you find it It's helped me a great deal :-) Skeep VNC Console then click download which takes you to SourceForge.net: Files and grab it from there happy VNC-ing people 3
FatBoy Posted June 5, 2008 Author Posted June 5, 2008 New version of skeep console (v1.1) is available that now is integrated with AD and has more options when deploying VNC. You can remove the start menu icons, hide it from the tray and install the viewer for admins
plexer Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 I get several errors when trying to use it about path not found in the script. Looks great though. Ben
JOrdan01070 Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 i have just got the path not found error just go to appdat for the person you have sign in as and create svnc folder should then work 1
FatBoy Posted June 5, 2008 Author Posted June 5, 2008 I get several errors when trying to use it about path not found in the script. Looks great though. Ben Could you let me know what they are or post on the bugs forum Skeep VNC Console • Index page I know the guy that created the app so he mite be able to help you with the errors
FatBoy Posted June 5, 2008 Author Posted June 5, 2008 Anyone else used it, what do they think? I use it everyday.... but then I know the guy that created it We did use bozteck but I find this much better plus it's free
mrtechsystems Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 Script Error Line 160 Char 2 Path not found Code : 0 URL File:///C:\program%20files/skeep/Skeep%20VNC%20console/Bin/Deploy.hta Do you want to run the script
JOrdan01070 Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 Can you only deploy to one machine at a time? Ben no i have deployed to approx 21 at the same time it just opens up new cmd windows
plexer Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 How do you select multiple machines I can't see how? Ben
plexer Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 Opening multiple windows seems a bit of a pain. I've done 30+ machines with fastpush before which this uses, by using a text file containing computer names and a batch file with a for command. Ben
JOrdan01070 Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 the way i did multiple machines was hold down shift and select the machines
skeep Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 hi all, Thought i would register and just say that the bug above should now be fixed in version 1.1.1. Also I will look at opening just one window when deploying vnc in the next version. In addition you can select multiple computers by holding the control key. Thanks Skeep 2
plexer Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Hi Skeep and welcome aboard. Your tools looks great. My admin laptop is not joined to the domain at the moment just wondering if there is a possibility of using some domain credentials somewhere in your app to get ad info then it could be run from any account as well. Ben
Whisky Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Hi Guys We have just deployed Skeep across our network and i have to say i'm impressed with it. The search feature is excellent. I do have one problem though. When using the console on a Vista business laptop i have to keep refreshing everytime i do something. Any thoughts? John
FatBoy Posted March 31, 2009 Author Posted March 31, 2009 Hi John, I use Vista Business and don't have this problem.... so your saying you have to refresh every time you want to search for a computer
Whisky Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Sorry i didn't explain myself very well. The search feature appears to be fine. it's when i connect to a computer and take control of it. For example if i click on the start menu nothing happens unless i press the refresh button, then if i wanted to click on all programs the all programs list would not appear until i press the refresh button. It seems to be fine running from XP Pro just my laptop running Vista business (only one in school with Vista)
FatBoy Posted March 31, 2009 Author Posted March 31, 2009 Sounds like a problem with VNC its self running on your laptop rather then a problem with the install/operation of the skeep VNC console. Check this post out on the skeep vnc forum:howto deploy ultravnc 1.0.5.3 with the vnc console This will update your vnc client and hopefully fix your problem 1
FatBoy Posted May 15, 2009 Author Posted May 15, 2009 Hi all, Just thought I would let you know that a new version of the software is out (1.3), I'm using it and the new features work great. On another note the site moved and the forum has been lost so if you were registered you will have to again Skeep VNC Console 1.3 Change Log [*] Ultra VNC is now the latest stable release 1.5.6 and this is now deployed without fastpush. [*] RDP window now inside Skeep VNC Console [*] Link straight to c$ share [*] Settings screen now has settings for all VNC properties [*] Log File window to show any errors on installation or connection
sf2 Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Hi, I just found Skeep and it looks promising. This thread seems to be active. I have a test setup with server 2003 and Win XP pro sp3 both as virtual machines. The XPP is joined to the domain. I installed Skeep 1.3 on the server. It is running IE6 and enhanced security is turned off. Skeep finds the XPP machine when I search and manage, ping and the admin share all work. I click deploy and it errors out with an IE script error: line 43, char 4 Error: The remote server machine does not exist or is unavailable 'GetObject' Code 0 UPL file///c:\Program%20Files/Skeep/%20VNC%/20Console/bin/sync.hta Any suggestions appreciated as to where to look. Thanks
EduTech Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Hi Skeep, welcome to the forums. Looks like a great Application, i have installed it on my Windows7 laptop, everything seem's to have installed ok except when you launch the app you get the error attached. I will deploy it to a stack of machines tomorrow at work, and let you know how i get on. if it does work i'll give it some good testing and give you some feedback. Many Thanks James.
