we use Sharepoint Foundation as our internal intranet.... nothing complicated mostly just links.

i am aware that in time it will fall out of support so just wondered what people use internally?

The only reason i like sharepoint is it knows whos logged in so as well as a standard landing page, Admins see and Admin page and Students get a student page, Staff get a staff page with staff links on.

 

i happly setup wordpress so when i moved to sharepoint i did toy with the idea of using that... but just curious what others do...

We moved our Sharepoint site over to Sharepoint as part of our O365 setup. To be honest it works better, because it's managed by Microsoft and I can setup and forget.
