Bionic Posted May 20, 2019 Posted May 20, 2019 Has anyone had any luck in deploying "DB Browser for SQLite" software silently using MDT? I have tried everything I know but have had no success creating a silent MSI. I keep getting the attached error message. Any help appreciated. Thanks!
Arthur Posted May 20, 2019 Posted May 20, 2019 Is there more info on the error in the log? msiexec /i "DB.Browser.for.SQLite-3.11.2-win64.msi" SHORTCUT_SQLITE_PROGRAMMENU=1 SHORTCUT_SQLCIPHER_PROGRAMMENU=1 /L*V "%TEMP%\install.log" /qn
mavhc Posted May 20, 2019 Posted May 20, 2019 I just tried the msi from the download page, mostly worked, although no start menu shortcut. MSI was created with WIX, fails a few related MSI validation tests, source code is https://github.com/sqlitebrowser/sqlitebrowser/tree/master/installer/windows
Arthur Posted May 20, 2019 Posted May 20, 2019 (edited) although no start menu shortcut. You have to add SHORTCUT_SQLITE_PROGRAMMENU=1 to get the Start Menu shortcut. Edit. To disable the update check... Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\sqlitebrowser\sqlitebrowser\checkversion] "enabled"="false" To set the default save location (for some reason it requires forward slashes in the path)... Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\sqlitebrowser\sqlitebrowser\db] "defaultlocation"="N:/" Edited May 20, 2019 by Arthur 2
mavhc Posted May 20, 2019 Posted May 20, 2019 thanks, interesting choice. Automatic updates could do with being disabled too, doesn't use proxy setting so errors each time.
foofighterjim Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 Sorry for brining up and old thread but has anyone got the reg keys mentioned by @Arthur to work with the latest version of this? I can't get the default location to take and it is opening to the Program Files folder for students, the only way I have found around it so far is to not include the default shortcut and have a custom one with Start In directory set to N:\, due to this I am not sure if the update check reg is working either.
