Amanda_Denning Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 Has anyone found a fix for this problem. Its taking over an hour to log into one computer. Teachers are not able to use computers which has this problem.
themightymrp Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 Yeah, either uninstall the update or use system restore to go to a time frame before the update was installed. That's the only thing that worked for me.
Chrisbf1 Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 move to Sophos Central seems to stop problem happening as well. i sorted it once and then another update messed it up, the site was not on Sophos Central.
Ertech Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 we have Sophos Central so are we ok to release the updates? thanks
themightymrp Posted June 13, 2019 Posted June 13, 2019 Not sure if anybody else experienced this but had a nother round of issues with this months patch Tuesday updates. Still trying to figure out which update it was (likely the cumulative one) but we got stuck in a reboot cycle on the Windows 7 machines again. We are moving everything to Windows 10 over Summer but this is really getting on my nerves now! It doesn't seem to have hit as many machines as last time as we managed to sort them all in about an hour. Anybody else having issues? Does anyone know what the actual 'fix' is rather than just uninstalling the update and waiting a month for it to die again? I wouldn't mind but over half term I changed our group policies so that only one IT suite should run updates in the first 3 weeks of a month and the rest of the school in the 4th week (thus giving me time to decline it and sort it). But my changes seems to have gone unheeded as they all ran updates as normal??! Can anybody please share their group policy schedules or plans that work? Cheers
themightymrp Posted June 13, 2019 Posted June 13, 2019 Looking possible that's it is related to KB4503269 and KB4503292 as some reports are coming from the McAfee camp that they are causing problems - https://windowsreport.com/kb4503269-kb4503292/ Not sure as of yet though. I've approved them for removal to be safe as usually I get hit 2 days in a row as machines check back in too quickly after a system restore. Can't move to Windows 10 quick enough now!
enbiggen Posted June 13, 2019 Posted June 13, 2019 Anybody else having issues?Yes, and far too busy to be dealing with this every month. 1
