Ruckus captive portal not working

Hi everyone,

 

I'm not sure what has happened but suddenly our Ruckus captive portal isn't working as in it doesn't redirect to the login screen when you connect to one of our wlans. As far as I can see nothing has changed and I've done a reboot and nothing.

 

Any ideas?

If you try to go on a side that isn't SSL such as edugeek.net does the portal show?

Nope, nothing comes up. I can get to the portal but I have to type https://ruckus.domain.etc manually theres no auto redirection going on.

Does it do this on devices with a different OS? Such as IOS or Windows?

Our wireless clients get their leases from smoothwall where I have a network card with virtual interfaces set up. One virtual interface has an ip address of 172.40.0.1 which is the default gateway but they can't ping it although it gives the leases out no problem. I wonder if it is because the clients can't ping the default gateway that everything else once connected is falling over.

 

The strange thing is I have no idea why it won't ping and can't find any settings to suggest it is blocked for ICMP requests either.
